That makes perfect sense, thank you! I always thought it was funny how everyone I know likes to brag about the result of the revolution, considering I recently found out that only around a third of the colonists at that time actually wanted a split. I also think that the way that everyone I know seems to think that it's just the issue of not wanting to pay taxes that made it happen, well that's complete bull. Another big part of the revolution was really the fact that, like you said, they wanted some limited self-government. They felt that it was owed to them, because that was the Age of Enlightenment and everyone was getting huge entitlement issues because of the great philosophers, so I'm sure that even if the original revolution had failed, something would have happened eventually. I am HUGELY gratified that there's an author out here who cares just as much for the history as the characters, so now I'm all happy again.
