Once again, just awesome! I think what I love most here is America's reaction to EVERYTHING that happens from the word go. Really, freaking out at the table because he knows what Italy is capable of . . . just mixes hilarity and horror/thriller. (And really, once Italy threw his arm around America's shoulders, I could just hear Alfred's mind going 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH' for the remainder of the conversation. >3)

Thinking about it, I suspect that it was the presentation of Italy like a mafia man--which yes, IS so much more pronounced here than in the start of the other 2 parts--that it feels almost right out of a HollyWood movie . . . so yes, being presented with that image of Italy sort of grabbed my interest, and ticked my funny bone.

But characterization is the strong point this time around. I loved how America immediately knew exactly what was in Italy's mind the moment he mentioned trading things that they wanted. When Italy pulled out his gun and started to beat England with it, I had a 'ClockWork Orange' moment (which makes no sense as I have never watched that movie. . . ).

So really, this was just insane and beautiful because of how familiar it was to so many movies/TV plots I've run across. And he's so effing cheerful! The Whole Time! (Oh gods, shoving the gun into America's mouth, and actually being able to 'read' the part about blackmail this time. I don't know, I somehow missed it on the meme that it was more than just being bribed, he was being blackmailed too.)

Again, little details got to me too, like the butcher shop, the smoke curling (THAT CIGAR!!! I CAN'T UNSEE NORTH ITALY WITH A CIGAR NOW!!!), America trying to be silent like England when his fingers are being broken, the implied USxEngland . . . . just . . .

:Nuzzles and noms the hell out of this story: Freakin' . . . . addicting . . . soooooooooo wonderful. <3
